Originally, the Bier Belly Fitness concept started out as a joke. I was sitting on my back deck in June 2017, drinking a 32oz’er, looking through Facebook – and all I kept seeing were pictures of my friends posting skinny people jumping around who looked like gazelles. So I thought to myself, “Why don’t they ever post pictures of the real hard-working men and women who exercise and diet, but no matter what they do they just can’t seem to shed any weight?” I mean, I was working out five days a week with heavy weights and yet I still had a beer belly. I’d always see the same people working out alongside their exercise herds with them trying to recommend some kind of drink, herb, mix, juice, and even a patch – not to mention all the different exercise routines they had to offer.
The joke was on me.
Around the time of creating the BBF concept, I myself had started to experience some ED problems of my own. It was really starting to take a toll on my mental attitude, not to mention making my wife think that I wasn’t interested in her anymore. So I started to research the main cause of this problem. Lo and behold, it all boiled down to poor blood circulation and the lack of real fat in my system. I tried all kinds of different vitamins, pills and herbs but nothing really worked. If it did work, it was only for a short time. While I was investigating the ED information, I was also looking for answers to help my wife with her Thyroid problem. On one trip to see one of our kids in Utah, he told us that he had just lost 85 pounds on the Carnivore Diet and suggested we check out Dr. Shawn Baker to learn more about it. The information we found changed not only our eating habits but our lives for the best forever.
Since starting our new-found carnivore nutritional lifestyle, we have experienced amazing results. My ED corrected itself and my wife no longer has to take her Thyroid medicine, discovering that she never really had Hashimoto’s in the first place. We also have lost weight like crazy. My eyesight got better. We also now sleep better, feel better with more energy, and don’t crave or even miss any of the carbs. All my acid reflux and indigestion disappeared and I find that I am gaining more muscle with better recovery time. Even though I still drink my beer, I’ve lost my “Bier Belly”. Our new-found nutrition has become a mission of love leading people we meet to the information, because like the old saying goes, “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t force it to drink.” Everybody has to make up their own minds on how to live their lives. Here is our challenge to anyone who reads this: Take a chance and try carnivore – or at least make your next meal have minimal carbs and more animal protein. Do some kind of exercise, even if it is between the commercials. Just get off the couch and do something, and this doesn’t mean merely walking to the refrigerator or Kegerator. We only ask that you try this for 30 days. If you don’t see any results, just go back to your old habits. As Jack LaLanne once said, “Dying is easy. Living takes hard work.”
It all starts with a transformation of the mind.
